what is a typecasting?

Typecasting, in programming, refers to the conversion of one data type into another. This is done to ensure compatibility between different types of data or to perform operations that require operands of the same type. For example, converting an integer to a floating-point number or vice versa. In languages like Python or C, you might explicitly use functions or operators for typecasting, such as casting an integer to a float using `float()` in Python or `(float)` in C.
